Irish, and as a Celt there is poetry in
my blood, you know? I think there's

Description
The story of love,
liquor, poetry n' dreams and the
'stranger at the bar.' It is best
read late at night with the
lights dimmed low, and when at
all possible just a little drunk.

"I've written plays
and other things, but the thing I'm most
proud of is 'Eighteen Straight Whiskeys.'
It will bring me no money whatsoever,
unless I sell about a million copies,
which is not likely. A big pressing for
poetry is about a thousand copies. My
publisher (Bowery Press) is printing
2,500 copies. Maybe it will become a
collectors item. It's prose poetry,
something along the lines of Bukowski,
non- rhyming.''

"Without making too
much of it (Eighteen Straight Whiskeys),
it's about a three to four year period of
life when I was going through some tough
times, and it's pretty edgy, but
heartfelt."
