| A one-hour
sci-fi/thriller series from
acclaimed executive
producer/writer John Sacret Young
(China Beach) and
co-executive producer Thania St.
John (Life Goes On). Sydney Bloom
(Lori Singer) is the daughter of
Dr. Joseph Bloom (David
McCallum), a neurobiologist on
the cutting-edge of virtual
reality research and technology.
When Sydney was a little girl,
her father and twin sister were
killed in a car accident, which
left her mother, Nora (Louise
Fletcher), so traumatized by the
deaths that she accidentally
overdosed on pain pills and went
into a coma. |

| Shy, but brilliant Sydney
inadvertently tapped into an open phone
line and mistakenly connected it to her
computer modem, thereby bringing the
person on the other line into her
computer world of virtual reality. Now
able to take herself and others into
virtual reality, Sydney utilizes this
newfound skill to address significant
issues and solve individual or societal
problems that require more than
conventional methods. Her forays into
this dimension begin with a simple phone
call to another participant, at which
time they both are pulled into a
pre-selected environment limited only by
the scope of Sydney's imagination. Once
there, all virtual experiences take place
on the subconscious level of the
participant -- exploring and altering
their dreams, memories and thoughts, thus
affecting their real-world behavior. With
Sydney's access to the level VR.5, she's
involuntarily recruited into the
enigmatic world of "The
Committee," a secret organization
with a hidden agenda. Against Sydney's
better judgment, The Committee enlists
her aid in completing difficult and often
dangerous assignments. |
